SEC disputes law firm’s claim to $2.6 million for getting receiver appointed in EB-5 fraud case

In a case against the San Francisco regional center run by Thomas Henderson, the SEC had secured judgments and recovered $29.6 million in diverted investor funds. Law firm Pritzker Levine wants 10% of those EB5 funds for getting the receiver appointed. The firm never represented the investors, only a business partner of Henderson in a related suit — and never obtained a judgment or settlement. The SEC says the firm has no claim to the recovered funds.
