The US government is considering a proposal made by India for a pact that includes granting India "treaty country status." enabling Indians to qualify for E-2 investor visas, which require a lower investment amount than EB-5. An E-2 visa is a temporary non-immigrant visa that can offer a relatively fast way for families to move to the US. Currently, the US has accorded treaty country status to nearly 100 nations.
