First legal challenge of new rules: federal judge not sympathetic to regional center argument to block changes

In a very brief injunction hearing, a D.C. judge didn’t seem to be favorable to the argument presented by Florida EB5 Investments to temporarily block the recent EB-5 reform. The regional center argues the new rules will severely deter investment and undermine the program’s aim. The judge asked, “where is the irreparable harm?” Economic loss isn’t enough.” He did promise to bring forward opinion in the “not-so-distant future.”
