In a plea agreement, former lawyer Victoria Chan admitted to defrauding 100 Chinese EB-5 investors who invested $50 million through her. Chan used much of the EB-5 capital to buy luxury homes. In a curious revelation, Chan’s attorney said this: “She never wanted to be a lawyer. This was her father’s vision for her.” Chan, after the disbarment, should be happier now; her father should not.
