Yahoo refuses to give up fraudster’s emails in EB-5 lawsuit

Yahoo is refusing to release emails from an attorney and former general partner of a Florida hotel project in an EB-5 fraud lawsuit. The tech giant claims the Stored Communications Act prohibits it from disclosing emails without the user's consent. Chinese, Iranian, and Turkish investors claim they invested $50 million into a Palm Beach hotel project that was never built, and that the developer, Joseph Walsh Sr., and his son used their capital for another commercial project and personal spending including a $6 million 151-foot yacht.
