Trial of American accused of EB-5 fraud in Nigeria delayed due to lawyer’s car troubles

The trial of American Marco Antonio Ramirez, who allegedly defrauded multiple Nigerians in EB-5 scams, was delayed due to the absence of his defense counsel. The lawyer informed the prosecuting counsel for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission that he was on the way to court when his car broke down. Ramirez, an American fugitive since 2012, has a long history of EB-5 fraud in Nigeria.
