A bill proposed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis aims to restrict land and property ownership by foreigners from seven countries, including China. The bill would prohibit foreign nationals from buying property within 20 miles of military installations or critical infrastructure and any agricultural land in the state. Additionally, only foreigners from China would be banned from owning property statewide, including homes. As parents of foreign students often buy property for their children studying in the U.S., critics say this move will prohibit EB-5 investment.
