He is the author of Professionals: A Matter of Degree, a treatise on business visas. This book, now in its fifth edition, is a leading text on business and professional visas. Professionals (4th ed.) was chosen by the San Francisco Law Library as its book of the month. Martin also held a webinar for the American Chemical Society on visas for chemists. He has chaired AILA's H-1B visa committee. Martin is the 1996 recipient of the AILA Jack Wasserman Memorial Award for excellence in immigration litigation. He has also received a number of AILA presidential awards. Q: What are some advantages of the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program?

There are many. One can self-sponsor – unlike with other employment-based immigrant visa categories, no U.S. employer is needed to sponsor the immigrant or prove U.S. worker shortage.  Immigration can be achieved while remaining in one’s home country.  EB-5 applicants born in India can immigrate much faster than applicants in some other categories, such as engineers in the EB-2 or EB-3 categories.  Immigrating via the EB-5 program allows one to work, enjoy retirement or attend school in the U.S.  A spouse and children under age 21 may all immigrate together with the EB-5 investor.The EB-5 program has two tracts.  One permits an investor to create their own business.  The other allows an immigrant to invest with a developer or financier to fund a job creating project with other investors.
