The EB-5 industry is currently going through significant changes and this is changing the investment landscape of the program. Previously most EB-5 investments were made in businesses located in major cities where demand was high. Investors were being offered rates of return of around 0.5%.
As I mentioned, things are changing. Investments in urban areas that aren't considered 'high unemployment areas' require an investment of $1,8m instead of the $900,000 minimum investment made in other areas.
On EB5Marketplace.com you can view investments currently available in the market, which now include commercial real estate, resort locations and even technology companies. This is a complicated time to find successful new commercial enterprises and my suggestion is to work with an experienced EB-5 broker to get some guidance so you can make an informed investment decision.
