$2 trillion stimulus package leaves out EB-5 — but some feel hopeful about inclusion in an upcoming package

The largest emergency aid package in U.S. history did not include the dramatic EB-5 changes developers were hoping for as real estate lending has taken a major pause. That said, Congress is said to be considering an even bigger stimulus package later this spring and EB-5 could be of part of it. “Proponents hope EB-5 reforms may succeed then,” offers Stephen Yale-Loehr, immigration lawyer and Cornell University law professor.
